Growing Up Maame K

When I travelling to Mowire, Ghana in 2008 to teach photography at a local school there, I could not have imagined the profound impact that experience would have on my life, my career, and my everything moving forward. One reason for this was because of a little girl I met on my first day at the Triumph International School: her name was Adwoa, but everyone called her Maame K.

Maame K was my little side kick. She was an energetic, curious, thoughtful and eager eight-year-old and I had the great honor to get to watch her grow up over the next decade into an amazing young woman.
